Happy Memorial Day

 Happy Memorial Day! I hope you will take time to talk with your children about the meaning of the day....many people throughout America's history have fought so we can be free. These soldiers were and are brave men and women, and some of you may be among them. If so, thank you. Be on the lookout with your children for all the flags displayed.This is also a good time to help your children include in the blessing before a meal or at bedtime thanking God for our freedom and ask his blessing on our land. If they are young, they will not comprehend it all, but you will be planting seeds of thankfulness for an important group of people and our freedom.....freedom that will allow them to grow up to be and do whatever they dream.

IPC Day School Our Four and Five-Year-Olds graduated last Tuesday, May 11. Some of the students who graduated will be Top Dogs (what we call our Five-Year-Old class) here at the Day School next year. The rest, including all of our current Top Dogs pictured above with teachers Sue Ellen Wilson and Courtney Lightner, will be attending Kindergartens throughout the city.  The APPLE summer program starts Tuesday, June 1.

WELCOME THE VOICE OF GOD INTO YOUR HEART Join us in the sanctuary today at 4 pm for a Choral Evensong with the IPC Choir. Evensong is the Service of Evening Prayer sung at the onset of evening to mark the close of the day with gratitude, and to compose the mind and renew the spirit for the coming week. The worship is truly ecumenical, drawing from traditions dating to the fourth century. It focuses on finding God through purposeful quiet and through the senses with the aid of music and incense.  This service is celebratory for the Ascension and includes music by David Hogan, T. Tertius Noble, William Smith, and William Byrd. Rev.
